This delightful performance is specially designed for the youngest students. Our 3 to 4-year-old dancers and gymnasts showcase their talents in an informal, intimate performance at a local theater. Parents and loved ones are invited to watch their performers parade to the stage and perform their class routine for the audience. This is a special time for our little dancers as it is when they are first introduced to the stage and get to showcase their accomplishments.
The annual performance is so much more than the average dance recital! Every class performs as a character in a themed theatrical production. This is a high energy experience for our students that helps to teach them how a professional theatre production works while also giving them an opportunity to perform on stage! All of our students from aged 5 to adult come together for the annual performance and share the spotlight while they weave a spellbinding story on the stage!
It has become a Dublin Dance Centre & Gymnastics tradition each year for our students to present a special holiday performance as a service to our local community. Aside from our public performances, out Nutcracker cast also travels to a selection of local nursing homes, inner-city schools and other community events to put on special performances. The Nutcracker offers an extra performance opportunity for placement and pre-professional ballet students and student performance company members.
Several years ago we started a tradition, The 'Mini' Nutcracker for preschoolers. Now, to include more young performers, we introduce The Junior Nutcracker! Any enrolled student aged 3 through 5th grade is invited to join.
These special student groups offer dancers and gymnasts a performance outlet and preparation for college and pre-professional company work. Student companies meet weekly for choreography and perform in annual shows as well as artist-in-the-schools programs and community events. Each program has specific class and level requirements.
